Ist Step of Reading (Phonics)

Today, we will talk about Reading. Yes, the most trending topic when it is the basic and essential thing for acquiring knowledge. And I know that this is the toughest task for the parents as well.




After all these discussions we are back to the topic. We can easily crush the horror of reading as well as the horror of the English language, by following some steps.

There is a sequence in everything and also a particular way of doing things in a good manner to get the best results of it.

So, in reading also there is a proved manner of introducing letters to the young ones. So, they can read at a very small age and also start grabbing the knowledge.

This is called the Ist step of reading...

Phonics is the best way to read the word by understanding, Why this word is pronounced in such a way.

Phonics is having their own groups. It has a particular sequence to say the sounds of the letters. The reason if you will ask is that, assume that the child has learned the initial 5 letters of the English alphabet. And all 5 alphabets, it is not possible to make many words from those 5 letters.  But with the help of phonic group 1, they will learn to read many words. You can try it on yourself also.

There are 7 groups in English Phonics. And more than 42 sounds are there.     It helps them to read the words with perfect pronunciation. This is a trendy and modern way of reading.

STEPS TO TEACH PHONICS TO CLEAR CONCEPT 

1. First begin with the introduction of the letter.
2. Then the formation of the letter, makes the feel the formation on their cheeks or wrist.

3. Then make your teaching interesting, So they can enjoy the intro.

4. Now time to introduce the sounds of that particular letter.

5. Then tell them the position of the sound/letter. It could be at the beginning of the word. It could be in the middle of the word or it could be at the end of the word.

6. Introduce them to the Beginning sounds, Middle sounds, and Ending sounds with the help of the three-letter words.

7. Now tell them to merge all the sounds together to frame a word. Initially, starts with the two-letter words like...at, on, it, an, and so on.

8. when you feel the child is now comfortable with two-letter words then start adding the third letter like.. cat, pat, sat, bat, mat, fat, hat, rat, and so on.

9. Now keep them giving practice.

10. Many words do not follow the phonic rules those are called Tricky words. Give them the practice of such words also.
